The Center for Excellence in Polling recently surveyed likely Ohio voters on the topic of voter ID. Specifically, those surveyed were voters who had voted both in a previous election and in an election since May 2023. A majority of likely Ohio voters say that, since voting in elections in the state since May 2, 2023, the requirement to present an approved form of photo identification did not make a difference in ease of voting compared to previous elections.
Similarly, three-quarters of likely voters say it was very or somewhat easy for them to obtain an approved form of photo identification. More than half were also aware that Ohio provides free photo IDs for voting through the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
