A new poll of likely voters was conducted July 15–18, 2021 and sought to gather voters’ opinions on matters facing the U.S. Congress.
Americans see pandemic help as having been necessary, but no longer needed—especially as debt levels soar and inflation kicks into high gear. New CEP polling shows that likely voters want tax credit increases to expire as planned in 2022.
While Democrats are split evenly, Republicans and Independents see these forms of pandemic-era assistance as having largely outlived their usefulness.
